History_opt_rotTo mark the 250th anniversary celebrations in Ballylaggan, a history has been published entitled “Two Hundred and Fifty Years of Covenanter Witness in Bannside 1763-2013”. Compiled by David H A Wright, himself a son of Ballylaggan Manse, this historical sketch (the author’s own description) draws on the records of the Ballylaggan congregation and of the Northern Presbytery, together with a variety of local bibliography, and makes fascinated reading for anyone interested in the affairs of Ballylaggan congregation in particular, or of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ireland in general. Facsimiles of various documents of interest are included, together with numerous photographs spanning a period of time exceeding the lifetime of any of the existing members of the congregation. This is a valuable resource, giving easy access to information which would otherwise be unobtainable, except by tedious searching of the records, which the author has already done on behalf of the readers of this history.
