Scripture Text: Isaiah 53:3           Preacher: Rev. David Sutherland          Date: 11 March 2018

This is the second of a series of three sermons preached during the Congregation’s Spring Communion Season.

Isaiah 53:3 describes Jesus as ‘despised and rejected’,  ‘as one from whom men hide their faces’, and ‘esteemed not’.

This sermon, which was delivered in three separate parts as the service proceeded, and here joined together to form a single address, draws a comparison between the contempt with which the world views Jesus, with the love, praise and worship accorded to him by Christians.

Isaiah 53:2 will be the subject of the third and final sermon of the series, to be delivered this evening.
