Scripture text: Ephesians 6:1-4                  Preacher: Rev. David Sutherland                     Date: 26 April 2015

This sermon continues our studies in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In the previous two sermons we considered the duties of wives and husbands to one another, and now we turn to the responsibilities of children to their parents. Noting that the obedience of children to their parents is a universally accepted principle, the sermon reflects on the compassionate nature of the command to honour parents, on its constancy, albeit with changing emphasis, on the promise which accompanies it, and on its role as the foundation for submission to all authority.

Children, obey your parents
