Scripture text: Ephesians 2: 1-3               Preacher: Rev David Sutherland                Date: 14 December 2014

Our progressive study of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians has now entered the second chapter. At the time of year when much of the Christian world traditionally celebrates the birth of Christ, today’s text succinctly answers the question “Why did Christ come”? These three verses sum up the hopeless state of mankind without Christ: spiritually dead, dominated and enslaved by  all things alien to God, and doomed to suffer His righteous judgement. The sermon explores this theme, and calls to action believers and unbelievers alike.
