Scripture text: Ephesians 5:22-33 Preacher: Rev David Sutherland Date: 19 April 2015
Continuing our study of Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians, we again focus on Christian marriage, having reflected last week on the submission of the wife to her husband. This week we consider Paul’s command to the husband to love his wife.
Following Paul’s example, the sermon draws the parallel between Christ’s love for his church and the husband’s love for his wife, and also examines the analogous relationship between the husband’s love and the wife’s submission. The closing thought is that marriage is less about finding the right person as being the right person.
