Scripture text: Ephesians 5:21-25 Preacher: Rev David Sutherland Date: 12 April 2015
Our study of Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians continues today. Having instructed the brethren in Ephesus to “submit to one another out of reverence for Christ”, Paul goes on to deal with the practical application of submission in three areas of Christian life, the first being marriage, the subject of today’s sermon.
In this sermon four aspects of the wife’s submission to her husband are examined — its meaning, its Biblical origin, the model on which it is to be based, and practical guidance on how it is to be exercised.
The sermon next week will consider the husband’s duty to his wife.
